ā€˜Treasuresā€™ from Williams Collection of Lincolniana featured during Ļć½¶Ö±²„Librariesā€™ February public program

STARKVILLE, Miss.ā€”Ļć½¶Ö±²„ā€™s Frank and Virginia Williams Collection of Lincolniana is highlighting six newly donated artifacts from the Williamses during the special Feb. 12 program ā€œWilliams Collection: Treasures From the Vault.ā€

The event begins at 6 p.m. in Mitchell Memorial Libraryā€™s John Grisham Room. Ļć½¶Ö±²„parking gates will open for free public parking at 5 p.m. to accommodate guests.

ā€œWe are thrilled to have these incredible, rare artifacts in the Williams Collection of Lincolniana. Our event, commemorating President Abraham Lincolnā€™s birthday, will help visitors understand the history behind each item and what they tell us about Lincolnā€™s America,ā€ said Susannah J. Ural, MSUā€™s Frank and Virginia Williams Chair for Abraham Lincoln and Civil War Studies.

Four of the items will continue to be on public display inside the gallery, while two exceptionally rare pieces will be unveiled for one night only during the event.

Ural will deliver a lecture exploring the history and significance of each donated artifact, followed by a gallery unveiling and public reception hosted by Ural and Archivist Kaelynn Edmondson.
