Ļć½¶Ö±²„art gallery features fall traveling exhibit āEcce Homo: Behold the Manā

STARKVILLE, Miss.āThe Colvard Student Union Art Gallery at Mississippi State this month begins hosting āEcce Homo: Behold the Man,ā a traveling exhibit depicting 20 interpretations of the Passion of Christ.
On view Aug. 26-Oct. 20 and curated by the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., the presentationās works span five centuries with the earliest depictions of Pontius Pilate bringing Jesus before the crowd originating in the 1500s. Featured are dynamic visualizations by such well-known artists as Salvador ¶Ł²¹±ōĆ, Odilon Redon, Georges Rouault and Otto Dix.
Free and open to the public, the Ļć½¶Ö±²„showing includes an opening reception Thursday [Aug. 27], 9:30-11:30 a.m., at the art gallery on the second floor of Colvard Union, 198 Lee Boulevard.
Amy Van Dyke, Museum of the Bibleās lead curator, said, āāEcce Homo: Behold the Manā offers visitors a profound opportunity to engage with the story of Jesus in a fresh and thought-provoking way.ā
The artwork is owned by the Museum of the Bible and part of its Bowden Collection of works recently donated by Sandra Bowden, an artist and collector from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. MSUās exhibition is educational, non-evangelical and non-proselytizing.
