Aerospace engineering professor at 香蕉直播named AIAA Associate Fellow

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擲hreyas Narsipur, Mississippi State assistant professor of aerospace engineering, has been named an American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Associate Fellow.
Selection as an AIAA Associate Fellow is a prestigious honor awarded to individuals who have accomplished or directed important engineering or scientific work, performed original work of outstanding merit, or made notable contributions to the arts, sciences or technology of aeronautics or astronautics. Nominees must be AIAA senior members in good standing with at least 12 years of professional experience and be recommended by three organization members.
鈥淒r. Narsipur鈥檚 appointment as an associate fellow of the AIAA is a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding contributions to aerodynamics, flight systems and aerospace engineering education,鈥 said Professor Rani Sullivan, head of MSU鈥檚 Department of Aerospace Engineering in the university鈥檚 Bagley College of Engineering. 鈥淎t the core of his innovative research is an interdisciplinary approach and a commitment to inspiring and preparing the next generation of engineers.鈥
Narsipur鈥檚 recognition stems from contributions to experimental low-speed aerodynamics and propeller aeroacoustics, as well as his sustained service and leadership within the aerospace community.
鈥淎IAA has been an important part of my professional community throughout my career, so having my contributions to aerodynamics, aeroacoustics and service recognized by my peers is especially meaningful,鈥 he said. 鈥淚鈥檓 very grateful to my mentors, colleagues, students and collaborators who have contributed to this journey. I am especially thankful to my wife, Vidisha, whose unwavering support has allowed me to pursue my ambitions while keeping me grounded.鈥 听
Narsipur credits this distinction to his ongoing research at MSU, as well as the support he has received from current and past members of his Applied Aerodynamics and Aeroacoustics Research Group, his department colleagues and department head Sullivan.
鈥淭hose service and leadership opportunities have played a crucial role in my advancement to associate fellow,鈥 he said. 鈥淩eceiving this recognition while still relatively early in my faculty career makes me especially appreciative of the people and institutions that invested in me, gave me opportunities to grow, and helped create the environment in which my research program could develop.鈥
